Every week, our students sit a short test on the concepts they have just learned. The paper comes back with something more useful than a position in a list: it shows the child — and her teacher — exactly which idea is firm, and which one needs another look.
That is all a test is for, at GiveWise. Teachers plan the next lessons from what the test reveals, reteaching the concepts the class found hard and setting practice where it is needed. A test is a torch, not a verdict.
A test should hand a child a next step, not a label.
— The GiveWise way
We never rank our students against each other, and we never publish positions. A child from a village classroom, studying after a day of work at home, should be measured against her own last step — not against a classmate whose life gave her a head start.
Progress, here, is personal: the concept that was confusing last month and is clear today; the sum attempted without fear; the hand that goes up in class. That is the only league table we believe in.
